I’ve written about the usefulness of checklists before, so I won’t rehash what I’ve already said (spoiler alert: they can really UP YOUR GAME as a new physical therapist or physical therapy student!):
“Performance Hacks for Physical Therapy Evaluations: The Power of The Checklist”
“Can A Checklist Make You A Better Physical Therapist?”
However, I wanted to revisit this idea and share the checklists that I’ve developed for orthopedic evaluations:
UPPER EXTREMITY EVAL CHECKLISTS_2020_LM
LOWER EXTREMITY- EVAL CHECKLISTS_2020_LM
SPINE & SI JT & TMJ EVAL CHECKLISTS_2020_LM
I also wanted to share a checklist that I am developing for use as a SAFETY SCREENING TOOL for Dry Needling Treatments. My goals for this particular checklist are to:
- IMPROVE SCREENING of Patients Prior to Dry Needling Treatments
- ENHANCE COMMUNICATION with Patients Regarding Risks, Benefits, and Side Effects of Dry Needling Treatments
- Do both of these things in an EFFICIENT 30-60 seconds!
See Draft below (Open to any feedback from clinicians and/or patients about this):
DRY NEEDLING- SAFETY CHECKLIST
